First win for gavelhouse.com graduate in Singapore

Media Release - Friday December 7

Te Akau Racing Singapore trainer Mark Walker prepared gavelhouse Australia purchase Sportscaster to narrowly nab his first success on new soil on Sunday.

Fastnet RockRacing on the polytrack Sportscaster, who raced as Shaolin Kungfuin Australia, was having his fourth start for his new connections and his first on the polytrack.

Appreciating the drop back in class and jumping from barrier four for the 1700m trip, the son of Fastnet Rock found cover and got off the rail coming into the home turn. In the hands of apprentice rider Zawari Razali, he ran on to win by a neck for the Triomphe Stable.

"He handles the polytrack well and I believe there are more wins in him," said Walker who secured the five year old in March on gavelhouse.com Australia for $21,000.

The three-quarter brother to champion juvenile Dance Hero was offered for unreserved sale by regular gavelhouse.com supporters Chris Waller Racing as the winner of two from 20 starts from the operation's Gold Coast stable.

Exported to Singapore via New Zealand Bloodstock Airfreight, Sportscaster has more than repaid his purchase price with the win.
