Two Straight for Brother to G1W Switzerland - Brother at Inglis Easter

Dane Squance - Wednesday February 4

Down to a field of six with the top weight Master Of The Air likely to start in Saturday’s G2 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield and the other scratched runner racing earlier in the day, the Michael Freedman trained Decorum, a brother to G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland, recorded consecutive wins.

A fast finishing second on debut behind Lonhro colt Attica who just three starts later won the G1 Spring Champion Stakes, Decorum then headed to Newcastle where he broke his maiden over 1400m.

Resuming on Wednesday off the back of two solid trials, the Freedman trained colt jumped away slowly from gate 2 before jockey Tommy Berry took him along the rail to settle in a mid-field position with the short priced favourite Asilah (Wootton Bassett) settling at the tail of the field.

With race outsider Hard Jakka going forward and taking up the running, leading the field by a couple of lengths into the home turn, Berry was one of the first top get going, urging Decorum off the rail to come to the outside of the leaders.

Getting the better of the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Little Iris (Too Darn Hot) in the home straight, Decorum pulled clear to win by a length and a quarter.

Purchased by TFI for $550,000 from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the Inglis Easter yearling sale, Decorum is the second foal of the imported, G3-winning Ms Bad Behavior (Can), who has been covered by Snitzel in her first five seasons at stud.

Decorum Was A $550,000 Inglis Easter Purchase By TFI From Arrowfield Stud's Draft

A 2.5% share in the colt was sold via the TFI draft at the 2025 Magic Millions Digital Sale (December), knocked down to Scott McQueen for $30,000, therefore roughly valuing the colt at $1.2m, prior to his latest win.

Ms Bad Behavior’s first foal is the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland who sported the Coolmore silks for trainer Chris Waller. Knocked down for $1.5m to Tom Magnier, the colt retired to Coolmore Stud after his racing career, covering 194 mares at a fee of $60,500 (inc. GST) at his first season at stud.

The third foal of the mare was also purchased by Magnier, selling for $2.7m at last year’s Inglis Easter sale. Named St Gotthard, the 2yo Waller trained colt has had three trials to date, finishing fourth on each occasion.

Arrowfield Stud will present the have another Snitzel yearling colt from Ms Bad Behavior at this year’s Inglis Easter sale where he will be offered as Lot 451.

Last season, you guessed it, Ms Bad Behavior produced another colt by Snitzel from her fifth and final cover by the Champion stallion. The mare was subsequently covered by The Autumn Sun in the spring.
