Godolphin Make Their Move

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 10

The first two days at Magic Millions were without a Godolphin purchase, but they moved swiftly in the first hour of trade on Friday to secure two fillies by Fastnet Rock and Snitzel for $600,000 each.

Godolphin have had a good track record at the Gold Coast since concentrating their attention on the sale purchasing Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Exhilarates (Snitzel) in 2018 for $600,000 and this year’s contender Conceited (Brazen Beau) last year for $625,000

Consigned by Cressfield, the Fastnet Rock filly from Group I winner Mid Summer Music is a half-sister to Magic Millions 2YO classic contender Euphoric Summer, who made $260,000 at this sale last year when bought by Phoenix Thoroughbreds.

Consigned by Strawberry Hill Stud, the Snitzel filly from Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mirror Mirror is a three-quarter sister to No Looking Back, who famously won the MM 2YO Classic, but lost it on protest to stablemate Driefontein.

Strawberry Hill Stud topped the Magic Millions in 2016 with a Snitzel colt from Mirror Mirror that made $1.6million and ultimately became a handy stakes-placed horse named Chauffeur, but is now a gelding. This filly looks comparatively great value at $600,000!
