South African Debut 2YO Winner for Shadwell

A $350,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell, two year-old Exceed and Excel filly Nafaayes made a winning debut at Vaal in South Africa on Thursday.

Trained by Mike de Kock, she was favourite for the 1000 metre juvenile maiden and raced accordingly dashing clear to win by a length and three-quarters.

Bred and consigned for sale by Kia Ora Stud, Nafaayes is the first winner for US Group III winner Decelerator (USA), a daughter of leading shuttle sire Dehere.

Decelerator has a yearling filly by Snitzel and weanling colt by More Than Ready (USA).
