$180,000 Fastnet Mare Headed to Australia

Media Release - Tuesday May 8

After purchasing the top lot on day one of New Zealand Bloodstock's May Sale, Sydney-based bloodstock agent Andrew Williams repeated the same dose on day two when bidding to $180,000 to secure the top lot of the Sale.

Mongolian Beauty - Trish DunnellThat title went to Mongolian Beauty (lot 371), a Fastnet Rock full-sister to Group Two winner Mongolian Falcon, who will stand at Willow Glen Stud for $3,000 + GST this coming breeding season.

Williams was happy with his purchase, highlighting the three-year-old filly was his main target heading into the Sale.

"She's the horse that I came across for so it was great to be able to get her," Williams said.

"I thought she was a fantastic physical specimen. Fastnet Rock is doing such a fantastic job as a broodmare sire.

"The family has sold particularly well and once again she is a Fastnet Rock mare, which you can't get enough of them.

"She jumps on a plane and will head to Australia and we'll do our best to find an outcross mating for her. We think she is a genuine commercial option going forward." – NZ Racing Desk.
