Brilliant Winner for Eurozone and New Stakes Horse for Sizzling

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 27
It's been a good week for Newgate Farm young guns Eurozone and Sizzling.

The powerful Tony Gollan stable unleashed an impressive first starter at the Sunshine Coast on Friday when two year-old Eurozone gelding Pizonie scored a facile victory.

Pizonie as a yearlingSent out a short priced favourite following an eight length trial win at Deagon 10 days ago, Pizonie ran right up- to that form to lead throughout and win the 1000 metre scamper by two and three-quarter lengths.

Retained to race after passing in shy of his $60,000 reserve at the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Sale, Pizonie is a half-brother to stakes-placed Snipzu and is the eighth winner from good producer Pilgrim.

He is the second winner for Northern Meteor's brilliant son Eurozone, joining the smart stakes-winner Krone.

Eurozone stands at Newgate Farm this spring at a fee of $11,000.

Sizzling featured on ANZAC Day when his two year-old filly Sizzleme was third in the Listed VRC Anzac Day Stakes with another Sizzling in Secret Blaze finishing fourth.

Sizzling has had five winners this season and two stakes horses with Sizzleme joining Sizzling Belle, who was second in the Group III Canberra Black Opal Stakes.

Sizzling stands this spring at a fee of $16,500.
