Juvenile Trial Watch – Hawkesbury

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 16

Three heats for two year-olds at the Hawkesbury trials on Monday morning produced two smart winners for first season sires and an exciting Fastnet Rock colt that looks more than ready to go to the races.

A three-quarter brother to Champion NZ Sprinter and dual Group I winner Sacred Star, Return with Honour was having his third trial and led comfortably in blinkers for the first time, before racing away to win by six lengths in fast time, breaking 33 seconds for his final furlong.

He is closely related to this season’s juvenile stakes-winner Unition, who is also by Fastnet Rock from the same female family being from Group I winner Diademe.

From the first crop of I Am Invincible’s brilliant son Super One, Genkides did everything right at his second trial. He is from Group II winner Bridie Belle, who has had seven foals to race and all are winners, so Genkides looks a great chance of keeping his mother’s record perfect.

Last at his only start to date in the Group III ATC Breeders Plate, Mr Colorful looked to have benefitted from that race experience in this trial, showing natural pace and good race manners to lead all the way.

From the first crop of fast two year-old Headwater, Mr Colorful is from smart Shamardal (USA) metro winner Holder sunset from the family of Group II winner Montana Flyer.
