First Season Sires Add Excitement to Perth Magic Millions

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 18

The West Australian breeding ranks were boosted in 2023 by the arrival of three superbly bred stallions – Aysar (Deep Field), Lightsaber (Zoustar) and Marine One (Capitalist) – and the trio have strong representation at the Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale which kicks off on Thursday.

As a stakes-winning half-brother to Champion 3YO Sprinting Colt and now exciting young sire Home Affairs, Aysar was always going to be popular at Geisel Park Stud.

By champion Hong Kong sire Deep Field from the family of champion sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur, Aysar ticks plenty of boxes and has 24 yearlings catalogued after withdrawals.

Lightsaber, click for more info.

By reigning champion sire Zoustar, Lightsaber was a mounting yard favourite during his racing career in Victoria with striking good looks and silver tail making him a show-stopper in the looks department.

A Group winner at two and three that was also second in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas, Lightsaber has been a great addition at Darling View Thoroughbreds and comes from the same family as champion sire Fastnet Rock.

Lightsaber also has 24 entries for the sale.
