ATIEA nominations close Wednesday midnight

Media Release - Tuesday February 17

The Australian thoroughbred industry has a final opportunity to recognise its staff, with nominations for the 2026 Australian Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards (formerly the Stud and Stable Staff Awards) now closing at midnight this Wednesday.

After strong interest and requests for more time from participants across breeding and racing, the nomination deadline has been extended to ensure no deserving person misses the chance to be acknowledged by their industry.

The Awards acknowledge the people working behind the scenes across studs, stables and administration roles who contribute to horse welfare and industry standards every day.

Thoroughbred Breeders Australia (TBA) is leading the delivery of the Awards this year with the support of Godolphin.

TBA CEO Andrew Hore-Lacy said the Awards depend on industry participants taking the time to recognise their peers.

“These awards only happen because someone decides to put another person forward,” Hore-Lacy said.

“Often the best people in our industry don't get the recognition they deserve, so this is about making sure their contribution is seen and celebrated.”

Nominations are open across eight categories:

  • Dedication to Racing (sponsored by Yulong Stud)
  • Dedication to Breeding (sponsored by Magic Millions)
  • Horsemanship (sponsored by Inglis)
  • Leadership (sponsored by AgriFutures)
  • Administrative and Ancillary Services (sponsored by The Straight)
  • Thoroughbred Care and Welfare (sponsored by Queensland Off The Track)
  • Newcomer Award (sponsored by ATA)
  • ATIEA Lifetime Achievement Award (sponsored by Godolphin)

Participants from all sectors of the industry are encouraged to nominate staff members, colleagues, or peers who demonstrate care, professionalism and commitment in their role.
