Stakes Success for Redoute’s Choice Stallion

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 28
Stuart Ramsey's blue-blooded Redoute's Choice stallion Glenall has always promised to win a stakes race and got the job done at Hawkesbury on Saturday when taking out the $125,000 Gold Rush.

GlenallTrained by Team Hawkes since last year, Glenall has mixed his form of late, but as a three year-old
was good enough to finish second in the Listed ATC Fireball Stakes and fourth to Russian Revolution and Redzel in the Group I ATC The Galaxy.

Returning to Sydney after three runs in Melbourne, Glenall produced a career best effort to score a three-quarter length win in the 1100 metre sprint taking his overall record to three wins and four seconds from 11 starts with prizemoney in excess of $270,000.

"It's just a change of environment back to Sydney, the horse has always had ability, he's always shown that," said co-trainer Michael Hawkes.

"He's a Redoute's Choice so we've always tried to chase the black-type and the Group races with him. We're happy with a low grade stakes race."

Foaled and raised at Turangga Farm, Glenall is a half-brother to stakes-winner Panipique and stakes-placed Tribal Law being from the former brilliant Spinning World (USA) sprinter Our Quivira.

Glenall is the latest SW for Redoute's ChoiceOur Quivira has a yearling filly by All Too Hard and was covered again by All Too Hard Again last year.

Glenall is the 157th stakes-winner for Arrowfield Stud's champion sire Redoute's Choice and is his third this week following two stakes-winners in Europe.
