Yarraman Park Leading Premier Vendor by Average

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 7
Diminishing participation at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Victoria from major Hunter Valley vendors has not stopped Yarraman Park from being well rewarded at Oaklands this week with eight yearlings selling in Book One at an average $258,750.

I Am Invincible colt from OceanfastThe stud's flagship sire I Am Invincible provided their two best results with a colt from Oceanfast fetching $400,000 and a colt from Courtesan selling for $330,000, while not far behind was the half-brother by Snitzel to Group II winner and sire Eurozone that made $300,000.

The colt from Oceanfast is a half-brother to Champion Two and Three Year Old Filly Alinghi and is the last foal from her dam, who died in 2016. Stakes-placed Oceanfast produced 10 winners including stakes-placed Slice of Paradise, the dam of Group III winner and ill-fated sire Beneteau.

Her final offering was bought by Blue Sky Bloodstock and will be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

"We are delighted to buy the colt for long-term Blue Sky client Mark Sowerby and we have had a lot of success with the progeny coming out of Yarraman Park," Blue Sky Bloodstock's Tom Seymour told ANZ Bloodstock News.

"He is from a great farm, from a great family and is going to great stable, what more can you say? "It is all free to dream but he is going to get every opportunity. We are pretty happy with that price for a horse of that quality."

I Am Invincible had 11 yearlings average $256,364 to be the third leading sire by average, while Hinchinbrook also achieved good results with five yearlings averaging $142,400.
