$1,050,000 Colt for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 8

Tipped as one of the stars on day one at Magic Millions, the I Am Invincible colt from Group II winning Zabeel mare Adrift duly set the sale ring alight when selling for $1,050,00 with Guy Mulcaster signing the docket in conjunction with Waller Racing.

$1,050,000 I Am Invincible colt from AdriftBred by Fairway Thoroughbreds and consigned by Segenhoe Stud, the colt is the first foal of his dam, who has had a torrid start to her stud career having lost her first two foals before missing in her third season at stud and then finally producing this gorgeous colt.

“He came up early in the sale and I think by the end of the week he’ll be looking pretty good value,” said Mulcaster, who was instrumental in the purchase of Winx from this sale in 2013.

“We liked him up at the farm and then loved him here at the sale, he was always a horse that we had targeted.”

The Fairway Thoroughbreds brand carried by this colt is also carried by Winx and Golden Slipper winner Vancouver who was also purchased from Magic Millions, so it’s very much a brand for success at the highest level.

I Am Invincible has worked particularly well with mares carrying Zabeel blood and has produced six stakes-winners bred this way including Group I winners Viddora and Invincibella, so it’s a pedigree with a lot to like.

Adrift was up to her old tricks again last season missing to Fastnet Rock so had no foal in 2019, but has been covered by Merchant Navy.
