Choisir Stakes-Winner in South Africa

Tara Madgwick - Saturday March 3
Choisir featured with a stakes-winner in South Africa on Friday when three year-old colt Sir Frenchie captured the Listed Ibhayi Stakes at Fairview.

ChoisirPrepared by Justin Snaith, Sir Frenchie was Group III placed previously and claimed his second Black Type success when powering clear to win the 1400 metre sprint by a length and three-quarters.

An $82,500 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for Paul Lafferty from the Attunga Stud draft, Sir Frenchie has won four of 12 starts and is the first winner for metro winning Viscount mare Volando, a half-sister to Group II winner Vezalay.

Volando has a weanling filly by Smart Missile and was covered last year by Choisir's Group I winning son Divine Prophet, so will produce a three-quarter sibling to Sir Frenchie this spring.
