Juvenile Trial Watch -Newcastle

Tara Madgwick - Monday December 30

Three heats for juveniles at the Newcastle barrier trials on Monday produced some interesting winners including the colt that topped the 2019 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The Kris Lees trained Midland showed improvement at his second trial with blinkers on to go straight to the front and although tiring at the finish scored by half a length.

By leading young sire Brazen Beau, Midland topped the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale when bought by Bruce Perry for $550,000 and is a half-brother to four winners including stakes-winner Rock Dove and is from the Dubawi mare Pouter, who comes from a big international Black Type family.

Other juvenile heat winners were Mendooran (I Am Invincible) and Riccardo (Exceed and Excel).
