Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Thursday November 21

The barrier trials at Warwick Farm this morning were abandoned after six heats due to smoke haze, but there were two heats run for the juveniles and both were won by the progeny of Darley’s champion sire Exceed and Excel.

A homebred for Godolphin, Chilliwack was having his second trial and looked very professional in jumping quickly to hold the fence and lead all the way to score a narrow win under a hold. He is a full brother to handy type Malahat, who was Group III placed and won nearly $250,000, being from Lonhro’s Group III winner Raspberries

Chris Waller has had a lot of success with horses racing in these colours notably with The Autumn Sun and Egg Tart and September Run showed good natural talent in her first trial to lead all the way and win by more than a length. September Run is the first foal of Street Cry’s Group III winning sprinter Pittsburgh Flyer, whose dam Warning Zone was the Champion 2YO Filly in South Africa, s o there’s plenty of speed on the page.
