Soft Win for Foxwedge Mare

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 7
Quality Foxwedge mare Into the Abyss has been taking on tough Black Type races since resuming from a spell and dropped back to midweek grade at Warwick Farm on Monday was able to return to winning form with a powerful victory under 60kg.

FoxwedgeSent out a short priced favourite for the Benchmark 79 event over 1400 metres, the John Thompson trained Into the Abyss always looked the horse to beat and strode clear to win by two lengths.

Stakes placed four times at two and three, Into the Abyss has won over $200,000 in prizemoney and can surely find a stakes race to win somewhere this season.

A $240,000 Magic Millions purchase for DGR Thoroughbreds from the Vinery Stud draft, Into the Abyss is a full sister to stakes-placed Aghna from Group III placed Encosta de Lago mare Moonboat.

Relocated to Woodside Park in Victoria this year, Foxwedge has made a strong start to the season with stakes-winner Foxy Houswife and stakes horses Villami, Dyslexic and Barbie's Fox.
