Foxwedge Fillies Fly into Spring

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 23
Woodside Park's new addition Foxwedge has a strong hand coming into this weekend with many of his star fillies and mares set to resume from winter spells on Saturday.

Foxwedge was paraded at Woodside Park last weekendThe Group II ATC Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) has been the race chosen for the Gerald Ryan trained Villami, who was last seen finishing third to Anaheed in the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes.

She takes on a tough field that includes established stakes-winners Tenley, Flit and Libertini so the race will give a great indication as to where Villami sits in the pecking order leading into the Darley Princess Series.

Chris Waller has also accepted with his lightly raced Foxwedge filly Catwalk, who was scratched from easier races on Wednesday to take on this harder assignment.

The Group III ATC Toy Show Quality (1100m) marks the start of new campaigns for Alassio, Dyslexic and Into the Abyss, all three mares primed for their return with good recent trial form.

A proven Group I producing son of champion sire Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge has relocated to Victoria and stands at Woodside Park this spring at a fee $16,500.
