MM 2YO Classic Winner O’ Ole Confirmed for MM National Sale

Media Release - Thursday February 26

Outstanding filly O' Ole will present breeders and stud farms with a rare opportunity when she is offered as an elite breeding prospect at May's Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast.

One of a select group of horses to have completed the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO and Gold Coast 2YO Classic double, O' Ole will be offered through what is shaping as a world class draft from Attunga Stud.

An almost $2 million earner from just nine starts, O' Ole was a $325,000 Gold Coast Yearling Sale buy by then unproven first season sire Ole Kirk.

The "beautiful" yearling developed into one of the finest juveniles of her generation and quickly became a superstar for her connections.

From the first time he laid eyes on the Ole Kirk filly as a yearling it was love at first sight for leading trainer Bjorn Baker

"The team and myself loved her from the first time we saw he," Baker said. "She had the looks and the attitude. Right from day dot we knew early on we had a horse of immense ability. She showed very early on she was fast."

"It was no surprise to us to see her featuring in the early two-year-old feature races. We bought her to win the Magic Millions (2YO Classic) and she was able to achieve it."

"It will obviously be mixed emotions for connections (when she is sold). It's been very special to be involved with her and she has a great bunch of owners. We have been on a mighty ride with her."

Baker believes O' Ole has the right attributes to make her impact at stud.

"She has two of the big things required to make a success at stud - speed and great temperament. Along with that obviously she is a great type - she is good sized and well balanced and will continue letting down to be very much a beautiful mare."

"I really look forward to seeing what she can produce," Baker added. "I will be the first one there to inspect her progeny, and would love to be able to buy one of her progeny at the Magic Millions (Yearling Sale) and win the race again."

Brian Nutt of Attunga Stud, who will present O' Ole on behalf of connections is in the process of building a star studded draft for May's National Broodmare Sale.

"I haven't put together a draft like this for many, many years," Nutt said. "In the past we've been honoured to sell mares like Bonny O'Reilly, Ruud Awakening, Savvy Coup and Eckstein among others, but this year's draft as a group will be right up there."

Among the other members of the draft will be the champion New Zealand trained Legarto - a last start Group One winner and twice voted Champion in her homeland.

"She is obviously a multiple Group One winner and she races in the Group One Bonecrusher at her next start before she heads to Australia," Nutt said.

Nutt said Group Two winner Double Market and the quality Sydney sprinter Bonita Queen are also confirmed for the draft, while others will be revealed in the coming weeks.

"I would like to thank our vendors in particular Bjorn Baker Racing, who have been a great supporter of Attunga Stud for many years, and also Philip Brown of Ancroft Stud with Legarto coming this year," he added.

Entries are now open for the 2026 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale which will be held on May 26 and 27 at the Gold Coast.
