Hallowed Crown was not the only Darley young gun with a winner on the board on Thursday with Shooting to Win also chiming in with a winner of his own at Warrnambool after Testino saluted as a hot favourite.

Testino as a yearlingTrained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, Testino was resuming from a spell. He was tenacious to the line and refused to surrender in scoring a short head win in the 1200 metre maiden beating older rivals.

A $50,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainers from the Willow Park draft, Testino is the first foal for stakes-winning King of Danes mare Oridane.

Testino is the 15th first crop winner for Shooting to Win and is his fourth this season.

A Group I winning son of Northern Meteor, Shooting to Win stands at Darley NSW at a fee of $22,000.

One of his most promising youngsters last season was Group III placed Shotmaker, who has not raced since finishing down the track in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

The Mick Price trained colt resumes from a spell in the Group III MRC McNeil Stakes at Caulfield this Saturday and if he runs up to expectation is expected to come to Sydney for a tilt at the Group I ATC Golden Rose next month.
