Rosemont Stud’s Hanseatic is on the board with his first winner of the new season after Humble Trader did a great job to win on debut at Sandown on Wednesday.
Trained by Greg Eurell and ridden by Jamie Mott, he sat outside the leader and was strong all the way to the line to win the 1200m maiden by three-quarters of a length over race favourite Wetumpka, a son of Alabama Express.
Humble Trader was a $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase from Bucklee Farm for his trainer and has a huge ownership group, many of whom made the trek to Sandown to watch his first win!
Humble Trader is a half-brother to Group III placed Clarice Cliffs being the seventh winner from eight to race from No Vanity, who is now retired.
Humble Trader is the sixth first crop winner for Hanseatic and his first of the new season.
The good looking chestnut son of Street Boss (USA) comes from the Scandinavia family made famous by Black Caviar and is priced at $16,500 this spring.
