Another Debut Winner for Shooting to Win

Darley's Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting to Win posted his third winner since the start of the new season with an impressive debut victory at Ipswich on Wednesday for Battle Strike.

Battle Strike as a yearlingTrained by the new father and son partnership of Trent and Toby Edmonds, Battle Strike was sent out favourite for the 1100 metre maiden after showing good ability in barrier trials and ran right up to that indication when powering clear to win by more than two lengths.

A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase for Edmonds Racing from the Mill Park draft, Battle Strike was bred by Mill Park in partnership and is a half-brother to stakes-winners Guard of Honour and undefeated South African based sprinter Run Fox Run.

He is the fourth winner from terrific producer Victory Cry, a full sister to stakes-winner Victory Chant and half-sister to stakes-winner Reldas from the family of Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed.

Battle Strike continues the strong start to the new season for Shooting to Win, who stands at Darley at a fee of $22,000.
