Brilliant Win for Invincible filly

Tara Madgwick - Saturday July 27
Yarraman Park's super sire I Am Invincible posted his 26th two year-old winner of the season at Canberra on Friday with seven length winner Vici and kept the winners coning at Rosehill on Saturday where his exciting daughter Lucicello stormed home to score her second win from four starts.

The Chris Waller trained filly broke her maiden last start with an impressive win at Randwick on the Kensington track and took another step forward with this hugely impressive performance.

Lucicello - images Steve HartAllowed to settle last in the field of eight by Tommy Berry, Lucicello powered to the line when eased into the clear to take the 1200 metre dash by more than two lengths and has now won over $122,000 in prizemoney.

"We've always known the ability is there. It's been about getting her to use her energy in the right way," Berry said.

"I just had to work with her and let her do what she wanted to do.

"I went with her and didn't rush her.

"This is a big step in her career and she has plenty of talent."

A $190,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Anton Koolman Bloodstock from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft, Lucicello races for a syndicate that includes Debbie Kepitis in whose colours she runs and Arthur and Charlotte Inglis among others.

A respected bloodstock agent with years of experience, Koolman has had plenty of recent success with his Inglis Easter purchases which include Group I stars such as The Autumn Sun, Egg Tart, Youngstar and another of this season's promising two year-old Funstar.

Lucicello is the first winner from stakes-placed Lucciola (IRE), a three-quarter sister-by Verglas in-blood to Group I winner and sire Glass Harmonium from the family of champion stayer and multiple Group I winner Conduit.

With a pedigree featuring such a mix of speed and stamina, Lucicello appeals as a filly follow next season as her three year-old career unfolds.

I Am Invincible leads the Australian 2YO Sires List by winners, earnings and stakes-winners adding a 27th winner to his tally at Gosford on Saturday when Invincible Dash saluted .
