Fastnet colt becomes second $2 million Easter Yearling

The top end of the market has kept charging along at Inglis Easter with the second $2 million lot of the session, bringing it to five million dollar lots after a little over three hours of selling.

Lot 88 is the full brother to dual hemisphere Group One winner Merchant Navy was always expected to be one of the big bangers of this sale and he didn't disappoint being sold to Aquis Farm for $2.3 million from the Segenhoe Stud draft.


Fastnet Rock x Legally Bay colt

The colt is by Fastnet Rock out of Legally Bay (by Snippets), a dual stakes winner including the Gr.3 Sweet Embrace Stakes as a juvenile and was placed in the Gr. Oakleigh Plate.

She has so far had seven to the races for six winners which include Merchant Navy winner of the Gr.1 Coolmore Stud Stakes in Australia and Gr.1.Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot as well as Group Two winner Jolie Bay.

He became the fourth million dollar sale after Lot 38 (Deep Impact x Grito colt) made $1.7 million, Lot 49 (Snitzel x Ichihara colt) made $2.8 million, Lot 73 (Brazen Beau x Just Discreet colt) made $1,150,000 and Lot 100 (Snitzel x Lucky Racquie colt) made $1 million.
