Debutante makes it 9 runners - 9 winners for his dam

Craig Tompson - Wednesday March 13
This mare has already left four stakes winners, including a Group One winner, and on Wednesday her ninth foal to race became her ninth winner on debut and was highly impressive with it.

Fastnet RockThe mare in question is Miss Jakeo, the horse in question is Millard Reaction, a three-year-old gelding by Fastnet Rock making his debut for the Toby Edmonds stable at Doomben.

After racing behind the speed, Millard Reaction lengthened stride impressively along the rails when asked and raced away despite racing very greenly in the final stages, to the point where he actually dumped his hapless rider shortly after the winning post.

It looked the performance of a horse that is going to graduate to better grades.

He is the ninth foal to race for his dam, who is by Unbridled's Song out of former top class galloper Lady Jakeo, winner of the Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes and Gr.1 Australia Stakes.

Lady Jakeo subsequently left Hong Kong champion Able Friend as well as the stakes winning Red Arrow and stakes placed Bullish Friend and Momentum.

Miss Jakeo, as the winner of a sole two-year-old event, was hardly among her best, however at stud immediately produced the Gr.3 winner Miss Judgment and subsequently turned out Gr.1 Oakleigh Plate winner Mrs Onassis, and Gr.3 winners Fifth Avenue Lady and Aussies Love Sport.

Millard Reaction was offered by Baramul Stud at the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, being knocked down to Aquis Farm and Blue Sky Bloodstock for $220,000.

Miss Jakeo has a yearling by Snitzel and was served by the same stallion last year.
