I Am Invincible's Prophet's Thumb Smashes Track Record in Fireball

Mark Smith - Saturday March 9

The lightly raced Prophet's Thumb became the 44th stakes-winner and the 24th individual stakes winner this season for the unstoppable I Am Invincible, but she needed to overcome a troubled run and lower Redzel's track record in Saturday's Listed Fireball Stakes to achieve it.

Raced by her breeders, Bell River Thoroughbreds and the Hongo family, the David Pfieffer-trained filly needed to get off the heels off the erratic leader Jonker before holding off the finish of Trope (More Than Ready) by a long neck. It at takes her overall record to 3 wins and 1 third from 6 starts with earnings of $154,120.

It justified the decision of her breeders to race Prophet's Thumb after she failed to make her $150,000 reserve at the 2016 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

She is the first foal of the winning Reset mare Set To Skelter who was sold at the Bell River Thoroughbred dispersal to Wattle Grove Thoroughbreds for $150,000 at the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale when carrying a Hinchinbrook filly that failed to make her $100,000 reserve at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

A full-sister to the Listed VRC Bagot Handicap winner Module, Set To Skelter is a daughter of the Listed AJC Breeders' Classic winner Miss Helterskelter.

Set To Skelter's yearling colt by Hinchinbrook was consigned by Phoenix Broodmare Farms to the recent Inglis Premier Sale where he was knocked down to Laurel Oak Bloodstock (FBAA) / David Pfeiffer Racing for $150,000.

Set To Skelter has a colt foal by Extreme Choice and was covered by Spirit Of Boom last spring.
