Sharing the Sebring Memories

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 25
Hardly a selfie but a wonderful memory for myself and my family - Leading our beloved family member back after his Golden Slipper win in 2008 - Sadly missed, never forgotten, eternally loved.

- James Hazzisevastos

I used to be the stallion manager at Widden Stud for almost 5 years. I lived Sebring (and the other stallions) every day and night for my entire time at Widden. I knew him better than any other stallion I have ever had the pleasure to get to know. He could be a pain of a horse to look after but he was very, very special to me.

He had his quirks and little habits. He was a gentle giant. Anyway I thought I would send in my picture with Sebring as respect for this fallen legend and a picture where he is saying hello to my son – Dean Macaskill.

We will all miss Sebring but we should savour the last of his progeny. This special colt is by Sebring out of Action Annie, so is a half-brother to Buffering. I was hoping to go back to Sebring this year so it will be hard to let this fella go. RIP you Champion. - Luke Trevanion, Hillside Downs

Everyone's favourite Sebring, 2017 above, and 2018 below. The two colts in the front enjoying the day off school each year – Matthew Christie.

I loved meeting Sebring at the 2018 stallion parade. – Penny Austin

Tony Nemaric enjoyed his meeting with Sebring.

I was so lucky to see him in August. Condolences to Widden. – Heidi Richardson

I got a few lovely snaps of Sebring back in 2010/11 out at Widden. His handler at the time had taught him a few tricks, he would rear on command amongst others. – Katherine Simpson

Mandy Ikin had an audience with Sebring.

Does this count as a selfie? – Alex Whitaker

Breednet's Mark Smith was a big Sebring fan and took the following images that highlight the joy Sebring brought to his fans.

Sebring, ever the showman, would be well pleased with this send off!
