Bred to be an Oaks Filly

Tara Madgwick - Friday February 22
Prepared by Anthony Cummings, Fastnet Rock filly Mrs Madrid was successful at Hawkesbury on Thursday and has now won her past two starts over 2000 metres bringing an important update for her Inglis Premier bound half-sister.

Fastnet RockMrs Madrid has only had four starts, but has really blossomed since being stepped out in distance and with many Oaks options coming up in the next few months, she looks a nice staying prospect and certainly has the pedigree to back that up.

A $175,000 Inglis Premier purchase for her trainer from the Erinvale Thoroughbreds draft, Mrs Madrid was foaled and raised at Coolmore and is the second winner from Lady of Spain, whose only other foal to race, Mystical Star is also now a winner in Malaysia.

Lady of Spain is a half-sister by Encosta de Lago to Group III MRC Ethereal Stakes winner Dawnie Perfect from Queensland Oaks winner Zagalia, who is by Zabeel.

Erinvale Thoroughbreds will offer the current yearling from Lady of Spain, a filly by Vancouver, at Inglis Premier as Lot 260.

Lady of Spain has another filly by Vancouver to follow and was covered last spring by Galileo's champion son Churchill (IRE).
