Invincible Canterbury Double

Yarraman Park's exceptional sire I Am Invincible is powering towards the end of 2018 with 12 winners in the past seven days and 39 in the past 30, the Canterbury meeting on Friday night delivering him with two smart three year-old winners that both have siblings to be offered at the 2019 Magic Millions.

Ljungberg as a yearlingPrepared by Ron Quinton, Ljungberg was resuming from a spell and having his first run since being gelded in the 1200 metre maiden with punters sending him out favourite.

He raced up to expectation scoring a short neck win on the heavy ground at just his fourth start.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Pedrille Thoroughbreds from the Yarraman Park draft, Ljungberg runs for a partnership headed by Ray Gall, whop also raced his sire I Am Invincible.

Ljungberg was bred by Yarraman Park in partnership with Hilton Cope and is the first foal of Group III winning Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) mare Octavia, a grand-daughter of Group III winner and Golden Slipper place-getter Paklani.

Yarraman Park will offer the current yearling from Octavia, a filly by Written Tycoon at the 2019 Magic Millions as Lot 871.

Pembroke Castle as a yearlingThird in the $250,000 Inglis Classic as a two year-old, the Chris Waller trained Pembroke Castle is now finding good form at three as a gelding.

He made light work of the heavy ground to score a length win in the Benchmark 70 event over 1250 metres and has now won two of 11 starts earning over $117,000 for his large group of Star Thoroughbreds owners.

A $105,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Star Thoroughbreds/ Chris Waller from the Widden Stud draft, Pembroke Castle is the first winner for Callista, a minor winner by Redoute's Choice from the family of Group I winner Alverta.

Widden Stud will offer the current yearling from Callista, a filly by Nicconi as Lot 436 at the 2019 Magic Millions.

I Am Invincible has sired 109 winners this season and runs at an impressive 46.2% seasonal winners to runners.
