First Win for Inglis Ready2Race 2017 Sale-Topper

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 16
Talented three year-old Shadow Bridge opened his account at Newcastle on Thursday for the in-form Mark Newnham stable.

Shadow Bridge was the top lot at the 2017 Inglis Ready2RaceFrom the first crop of More Than Ready's Group III winning son War, Shadow Bridge made $420,000 at the Inglis Ready2Race Sale last year when bought by Sweetbriar Equine from the Upper Gumtree Farm draft.

He had one start back in May at Newcastle when he finished sixth and pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia before heading to the spelling paddock. Gelded during his time away, Shadow Bridge trialled very well in recent weeks and was sent out favourite for the 900 metre maiden.

He led all the way and cruised home to win by a length.

Shadow Bridge is a half-brother to Group II placed Cliff Hanger and stakes-placed Kirabo being from good producer Crevasse.

He was a highly successful pinhook having made $155,000 as a yearling at Inglis Premier where he was offered by Blue Gum Farm, who sold his full sister at Premier this year for $150,000.
