Invincible Mare Wins G1 Moir

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 28
An unlucky short half head second in the Group I MVRC Moir Stakes last year to She Will Reign, high class I Am Invincible mare Viddora went one better at Moonee Valley on Friday night, returning to avenge that loss with a barnstorming victory in the 1000 metre dash.

Viddora won the MM Sprint earlier this yearTrained by Lloyd Kennewell and ridden by Joe Bowditch, who both recently relocated from Adelaide to Melbourne, Viddora was first up form a spell and was simply brilliant.

She charged to the line to beat Brave Smash (Jpn) by a length and a quarter with race favourite Nature Strip wilting out of the placings after leading for home.

"That's my biggest moment in racing right here, right now," said an elated Lloyd Kennewell.

"She's been flying on the track and everything she's done has been perfect."

Bred by Riva Ridge, Viddora advances her record to nine wins and eight placings from 27 starts with prizemoney in excess of $2.5 million.

Connections will seek the last remaining Everest slot for Viddora, who is now a two time Group I winner having won the WATC Winterbottom Stakes last year.

A $40,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for her trainer in 2014, Viddora is the second foal of the 5-time Melbourne winner Snow Flight, a daughter of the Zabeel stallion Colombia, who is a brother to Octagonal and Mouawad.

Snow Flight has a yearling colt by I Am Invincible's promising young son Super One, but unfortunately missed to I Am Invincible last spring.

Viddora made it a Group race double for I Am Invincible on Friday night with I Am a Star winning the Group II MVRC Stocks Stakes earlier in the evening.
