Timing is Everything - Newhaven Park Present Streisand Half-Brother

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Friday February 27

When entries were taken for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale last year a colt by Star Witness from Zouper Star was hardly seen as a standout offering, but events of the last six months will have this youngster as one of the must inspect horses of the sale.

His older half-sister Streisand made her debut last spring with a second in the Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial and was triumphant last Saturday when beating the colts to win the $2million Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

Lot 458 - the half-brother by Star Witness to Streisand.

Her yearling half-brother will be offered at Oaklands in the draft of Newhaven Park as Lot 458 and is the only yearling in this sale by proven G1 sire Star Witness, who is also enjoying success as a sire of sires through his sons Star Turn and Graff.

Like his half-sister, he is a strong well grown individual with a good attitude that will stand him in good stead this week given the attention he is sure to receive!

Newhaven will offer a draft of 17 and seven are by the farm’s proven sires Cool Aza Beel and Xtravagant.

Lot 99 Filly Cool Aza Beel x Heriz, by Redoute’s Choice

By the sire of outstanding Group I winning 2YO Cool Archie, this filly is a half-sister to dual Group III winner Jamaican Rain and Group II placed Diasonic, plus two more winners being from the good producer Heriz, who traces back to a top class international Black Type family.

Lot 251 Colt Xtravagant x Paris Lights, by Snitzel

By the sire of G2 winner Lavish Girl and million dollar earner Nadal, this colt is the third foal of winning daughter of stakes-winner City of Song  with third dam Songs of Vienna also a stakes-winner. This is the same female family that produced Lavish Girl, so is a proven recipe for success.

Second foal of an unraced half-sister to Group II winners Luvaluva and Brandenberg, who were also both multiple G1 placed. Bred on the successful So You Think x Fastnet Rock cross that has produced four SW’s headed by G1 winner Palaisipan and last Saturday’s new SW Bossy Benita.

Lot 344  Colt Toronado (IRE) x Sistine Queen, by Written Tycoon

First foal of a winning half-sister to Group winners Sistine Angel and Sistine Demon, plus Group placed Scully and Themoonlitegambler. There is also an exciting new addition to this family in unbeaten Kiwi trained 2YO filly Lara Antipova, who is a two time G2 winner and heads next to the Group I Sistema Stakes on Saturday week.
