Second Win for Miracle Foal

Tara Madgwick - Saturday June 16
The feel good foaling story of the year in 2014 revolved around Group I South Australian Oaks winner Asia, who had delivered her first living foal at age 17 following a long and sorry history of not carrying foals to term.

Under expert care from the team at Hunter Valley nursery Berkeley Park, Asia finally became a mum producing a lovely filly by Dream Ahead (USA) in November 2014.

She grew and developed into an athletic yearling that made $60,000 when offered by Berkeley Park at Magic Millions with World Wide Bloodstock the successful bidder.

Laat Lammetjie as a yearlingSent to South Africa and named Laat Lammetjie, she broke her maiden in April at her third start and then won again at Greyville on Friday scoring over 2000 metres.

Trained by Dennis Bosch, she has now won two of five starts and looks a promising staying filly.

Asia produced her second foal the following year, so has a two year old colt by All Too Hard that made $75,000 at Magic Millions last year when bought by Dermot Farrington, but he is yet to be named.
