$1.1million Frankel Colt Sold by Newgate

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 15

Juddmonte Farms based champion sire Frankel has exerted a powerful presence on the Magic Millions this year and had a second million dollar yearling on Thursday when the Newgate Farm consigned colt from Miss Alacrity (USA) sold for $1.1million.

He was bought by James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership/Tony Fung Colts and is one of six colts they have purchased so far and is the only one not sired by an Australian bred stallion.

$1.1million Frankel colt from Miss Alacrity (USA).

He is the first foal of fast Wesley Ward trained stakes-winning Munnings mare Miss Alacrity, whose two wins both came at two over 5f and she comes tih plenty of pedigree being a half-sister to stakes-winner Jenda’s Agenda (Dam of G3 winner Just Cindy) from multiple Group winner Just Jenda.

“She is from a fast American mare who made her name as a two-year-old and she was very impressive,” said James Harron.

“From a family that has produced one of the top leading stallions (Nyquist) in America and we were really pleased to see that speed come through the dam side. It is going to be interesting to see what sort of horse he shapes into, but he is a beautiful athlete.”

James Harron knows Miss Alacrity well as he was involved in her purchase for Australian based client Morningside from the 2022 Fasig-Tipton November Sale in Kentucky where she made $US350,000.

She visited Frankel the following year and this colt is the result of that mating.

Miss Alacrity produced her second foal last spring, a colt by Golden Slipper winner Shinzo.

Frankel has two more yearlings to be offered at this sale on Friday.
