Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 12
The Randwick trials on Tuesday morning featured eight heats for two year-olds and saw the return of stakes-placed youngster Plague Stone and a raft of up and comers including a half-brother to a four-time Group I winner.

Second to the year’s best two year-old colt Written By in the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Prelude, the Godolphin runner Plague Stone came up short in two subsequent runs in top company but should find winter racing easy pickings.

Sneaking to Win as a yearlingThe James Cummings trained son of Lonhro scored a three-quarter length win over 730 metres with Tye Angland in the saddle.

Winning the previous heat in slightly quicker time was the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Snitzel colt Sneaking to Win.

Carrying the familiar blue colours of Trevor Stuckey and Penny Yan, Sneaking to Win was having his second trial this preparation and improved on his last start fourth to forge clear and win by the best part of a length.

A $450,000 Magic Millions purchase for Snowden Racing from the Kitchwin Hills draft, Sneaking to Win is a half-brother to $1.7 million earner and four time Group I winner Appearance and stakes-winner Mascareri.
