Sandown Winner for Fighting Sun

Sun Stud's promising young Northern Meteor sire Fighting Sun was in the frame at Sandown on Wednesday when promising colt Fighting Harada scored an easy win as favourite.

Fighting SunFourth in the Listed MRC Redoute's Choice Stakes at the end of April, the Mick Price trained Fighting Harada broke his maiden at Sale at his next start in good style an carried that improving form forward to Sandown.

Fighting hArada relished the step out to 1400 metres and dashed clear to win by a length and three-quarters over Zoustar gelding Zoutori.

From five starts, Fighting Harada has never finished worse than fourth and is clearly on an upswing with $74,140 already in the bank for his owners.

Bred and retained to race by United Syndications. Fighting Harada is the fourth winner from four foals to race from winning More Than Ready (UA) mare Ready Made Family, who was also raced by United Syndications.

Fighting Harada is her last foal as she was retired in 2016.

Fighting Sun has made an encouraging start to his stud career with six winners on the board highlighted by stakes-winner Chess Star and stakes-placed Platinum Mam'selle.

He stands at a fee of $15,400 at Sun Stud this spring.
