$2.2million Zoustar Filly Goes Two from Two

Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 7

The highest priced yearling by champion sire Zoustar sold in 2024 when fetching $2.2million at Inglis Easter, Plaintiff was stepping out at Rosehill on Sunday for her second race start and kept her record perfect.

Consigned by Widden and purchased by James Harron Bloodstock for Fairway Thoroughbreds owner John Camilleri, Plaintiff is trained by Peter Snowden.

She won on debut over 1200m last month and took another step forward in this Benchmark 72 event for three year-olds which attracted some promising young horses.

She enjoyed the run of the race, one out and one back for Jordan Childs and when challenged hard by the runner-up Nitro, Plaintiff dug deep to score a head win over her stablemate.

“I thought Nitro had her cold,” Peter Snowden said.

“But she just kept fighting and it’s a really good thing to see. I love horses that keep turning up, keep fighting and sticking their head out, it’s a really good sign to see.

“She really does look above average.”

Autumn stakes racing will be the immediate goal for Plaintiff, who may have one more run before a freshen up as she begins the quest for Black Type in 2026.

Plaintiff was a sale ring star at Inglis Easter in 2024 fetching $2.2million.

Bred by Widden and partners, Plaintiff is the second winner from three foals to race from Group I Tatts Tiara winner Prompt Response, who won over $1.6million with a resume packed with additional Group wins and placings.

Sadly, she did not have another foal after Plaintiff and died earlier this year.
