Unbeaten $2.2million Zoustar Filly Poised for Black Type in 2026

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 20

The highest priced yearling by champion sire Zoustar sold in 2024 when fetching $2.2million at Inglis Easter, unbeaten filly Plaintiff took another step forward at Randwick on Saturday keeping her record perfect with three wins in as many starts.

Consigned by Widden and purchased by James Harron Bloodstock for Fairway Thoroughbreds owner John Camilleri, Plaintiff is trained by Peter Snowden, who has taken his time with the valuable filly.

She won on debut in November at Rosehill before taking a Benchmark 72 event over 1200m at the same venue earlier this month before stepping up to 1300m for another Benchmark 72 today.

Ridden quietly by Chad Schofield, Plaintiff produced a powerful finishing run that saw her reel in the leaders and win by half a length with her three wins to date netting just shy of $250,000 in prizemoney.

"She got a lot out of today," said Peter Snowden, who will send the filly for a short summer break with the goal of chasing Black Type in 2026.

"Both starts she has been on speed and floating a bit when she got to the front.

"Today it would have been nice for her to get that nice run off the speed to see if she has something to run down, how solid she can be.

"I was really rapt and it was what I wanted to see.”

Chad Schofield is the third jockey to win on Plaintiff with a different rider in the saddle for each of her wins.

"She is a lovely filly," Schofield said.

"She is still very new at it all. I am surprised how green she was really as she is bombproof to ride and is going to be a beautiful horse next prep.

"This preparation she has done an amazing job to win her first three, given how much improvement I think is in the filly."

Bred by Widden and partners, Plaintiff is the second winner from three foals to race from Group I Tatts Tiara winner Prompt Response, who won over $1.6million with a resume packed with additional Group wins and placings.

Sadly, she did not have another foal after Plaintiff and died earlier this year.
