Pretty Stakes Win for Sebring Filly

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 12
A Breednet 'One to Watch' when scoring on debut at Gosford last month, promising two year-old Sebring filly Pretty in Pink confirmed her potential when scoring a dominant win in the $150,000 Listed Segenhoe Stud Woodlands Stud Stakes at Scone on Saturday.

Pretty in PinkA homebred for Segenhoe Thoroughbreds, who sponsored the race, the John O'Shea trained filly settled near the tail of the field and was the widest runner as the field turned for home.

She showed her class for Brenton Avdulla when charging to the line to beat another nice filly in Invictus Salute by two and a half lengths.

"She has a great will to be a racehorse and is just a beautiful filly," said John O'Shea.

"Kevin Maloney gave her to me when I came back to training and I am so grateful for his support, so it's a great result."

Passed in shy of her $275,000 reserve by Segenhoe at Inglis Easter, Pretty in Pink (image Steve Hart) has now won two from two earning $129,955 and will head to the spelling paddock with spring stakes goals in mind.

Pretty in Pink is the first winner for Group II placed Nadeem mare Total Attraction, who comes from the family of dual Cox Plate winner Fields of Omagh.

Total Attraction was bought by Segenhoe for $220,000 at the 2013 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale and has a weanling filly by Sebring and was covered last spring by Choisir.

Pretty in Pink is the 43rd stakes-winner for Widden Stud's Sebring, who had the Scone Cup winner on Friday in Sedanzer.

The Golden Slipper winning son of More Than Ready (USA) stands at a fee of $66,000.
