TRIPLE CROWN SYNDICATION'S inaugural Everest Champion REDZEL will return to defend his crown in the world's richest race on turf after Triple Crown and Yulong Investments were today delighted to reach an agreement to race the five-year-old son of Snitzel in 2018's renewal of The Everest, worth a staggering $13 Million.

On reaching the deal Triple Crown's Chris Ward said, "It was an incredible day for all involved last year when Redzel won The Everest and we are very much delighted to be returning with our fantastic team of owners to the race this year with the aim of defending his title.

"Mr Zhang has been a prominent supporter of the racing industry in Australia and we are thrilled to be partnering with his Yulong Investments group and teaming up with someone possessing such passion and ambition for the sport.

"Redzel has proven over the last 12 months to be the best sprinter in the country, winning the inaugural running of The Everest and the Group 1 Darley Classic in the Spring before claiming the Group 2 Challenge Stakes in the Autumn where he broke the track record for 1000m to add to his track record over 1100m at Randwick.

"Peter & Paul Snowden are the ultimate grand final trainers, as they proved in this race last year, and alongside Yulong Investments we have a strong team to retain The Everest in 2018."

Sam Fairgray, Chief Operating Officer of Yulong Investments added, "We are delighted to secure Redzel to represent Yulong Investmentsin the 2018 Everest.

"He is the reigning Everest Champion and is one of Australia's elite sprinters. His racing style and ability to handle all surfaces was a major factor in Mr Zhang selecting Redzel.

"The Snowdens already train a number of Yulong's large racing team and are outstanding at getting horses to peak in their grand final. We look forward to teaming up with Triple Crown and their syndicate members in this year's renewal of the Everest."
