Left off the Arrowfield roster for 2018, Animal Kingdom (USA) sired a South African winner on Thursday with a Vaal success for promising staying filly Animal Lover.

Trained by Gary Alexander, Animal Lover scored over 2000 metres by half a length at her fourth start.

Animal KingdomA $50,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Heritage Bloodstock from the Arrowfield draft, Animal Lover is the second winner for Distant and Lovely, an Encosta de Lago half-sister to Group II winner Champagne Harmony from the family of Group I winners Champagne, St Reims, Charmont and Bonneval.

Winner of the Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup, Animal Kingdom has sired 16 Australian winners this season of nearly $1milliion in prizemoney including three stakes horses in Peaceful State (second in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas), Earth Angel and Wild Planet.

Animal Kingdom shuttled for three season in a row to Arrowfield, then missed 2016 before returning last year to cover 46 mares.
