Arrowfield Stud graduates had another super successful weekend of racing with Little Black Dress (Snitzel) a stakes-winner New Zealand, Shangri La Spring (Castelvecchio) a Group winner at Randwick, Matusalem a new SW for The Autumn Sun and then in Japan on Sunday three year-old Shalaa (IRE) colt Invincible Papa won the Listed Keiyo Stakes (1200m) at Nakayama.
Trained by Daishi Ito and ridden by Joao Moreira, the speedy three year-old le for home and couldn’t be caught going on to win by a length and a half in a big field of 16. He took his overall record to five wins from eight starts and all of them have been on all weather tracks.
Invincible Papa was a $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Japanese based Champions Farm from Arrowfield Stud and is the first stakes-winner among three winners from three to race from Shwaimsa (IRE), a winning half-sister by Canford Cliffs to French Group winners Fractional and Needlecraft, the dam of 2018 Champion Japanese Sprinter and two time Group I winner Fine Needle.
Shwaimsa was on-sold through Inglis Digital in April 2022 for $55,000 to the Vieira Group and has weanling and yearling fillies by Trapeze Artist.
Invincible Papa is the 19th stakes-winner for Shalaa, who now stands at Woodside Park in Victoria. He has had a great season to date siring five Australian stakes-winners, all of them Group winning sprinters headed by Group I winner Mornington Glory.
