First Win for Long Leaf Sister

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 21
A full sister to this season's stakes-winning two year-old Long Leaf, who runs in the Golden Slipper this weekend, three year-old filly Sacredvista broke her maiden in New Zealand on Wednesday.

Jordan Grob opened his winning account in New Zealand with success aboard the Tony Pike-trained Sacredvista at Te Teko.

Lot 144 at Inglis Easter - full sister to Long Leaf and SacredvistaThe visiting Victorian apprentice, who is enjoying a spell with Michael Moroney and Pam Gerard's Matamata stable, made the running aboard the daughter of Fastnet Rock, who kicked strongly in the run home to break her maiden in the Ash & Oak Arborists 3YO 1200m.

"It's good to get the first one, it's taken a while," Grob said. "She's a nice filly going places and she's in the right yard."

Pike said Sacredvista, who comes from the family of Terravista and Tiger Tees, had trialled well after a freshen-up since last racing.

"She's strengthening and she's always showed plenty of ability. Jordan has been coming over to ride trackwork a couple of times a week and he was rewarded with the ride."

Sacredvista was a $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for Raffles Racing and is the second winner for Frustrating, a half-sister by Stravinsky (USA) to Group I winners Terravista, Tiger Tees, Group II winner Ball of Muscle, Singapore Horse of the Year Super Easy and stakes-winner Our Lukas.

Coolmore will offer the current yearling from Frustrating, another filly by Fastnet Rock as Lot 144 at the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
