Rheinwood Pastoral always had high hopes for their Captivant half-sister to unbeaten 3YO sprint star Private Harry and she duly attracted plenty of interest at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale on Monday before going on to fetch $220,000.
When Private Harry was sold at this sale in 2023 he made $115,000 when knocked down to Kurrinda Bloodstock / Doyle Racing and the same buyers came back to secure his half-sister.
Private Harry has had four starts for four wins earning $1.3million with a highlight victory over Golden Slipper winner Lady of Camelot in the $3million Magic Millions Sunlight Plate, so it’s not hard to see why Nathan Doyle was keen to add his half-sister to the stable.
The star filly is the sixth foal of good producer Happy Pilgrim, who has had three winners from four to race and Rheinwood Pastoral’s Kirsty Willis is confident the compact chestnut can add to the record… so much so that Rheinwood will be retaining an interest!
The filly from Happy Pilgrim is now the highest priced yearling from the first crop of Kia Ora Stud’s Group I winner Captivant.
