Zany Girl Makes it a Happy New Year for Prime

Prime Thoroughbreds made it a winning start to 2025 when two year-old filly Zany Girl made it two wins as many starts when scoring at Hobart on Friday.

Sent off favourite for the $50,000 Alexandra Plate (1000m) the Stuart Gandy trained Needs Further filly was able to replicate her debut victory last month to score by half a length bringing a pedigree update for her yearling half-sister by Gold Standard headed to Magic Millions Tasmania this year.

Zany Girl was a $65,000 Magic Millions Tasmania  purchase.

Bred and sold by Armidale Stud, Zany Girl is the third winner from Is’t Life Strange, a winning half-sister by Ladoni (IRE) to stakes-winners what Life to the Full and What Life Brings.

Armidale Stud will offer her yearling half-sister by Gold Standard at the sale this year as Lot 21.
