Third Winner for Fighting Sun

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 7
Sun Stud's Fighting Sun posted his third winner with an impressive debut victory at Warrnambool on Wednesday for the David Brideoake trained filly Naduri.

Naduri as a yearlingShe forged clear to beat the favourite Daily at Dawn (Dawn Approach (IRE) by a length and a half in the 1000 metre maiden with Soaring Eagle (Unencumbered) third to give first season sires the race trifecta.

Naduri was passed in at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale shy of her $40,000 reserve and runs for former champion trainer Peter Moody.

Naduri is a half-sister to stakes-placed Peninsula Links and is the third winner from Cardannic, a Bel Esprit half-sister to Group III winner Cahuita.

She is the third winner for Fighting Sun joining stakes-placed Platinum Mam'selle and Sunfighter.

A son of Northern Meteor, Fighting Sun was unbeaten in two starts, including the Listed Canonbury Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill, before an injury ended his career. He retired to Sun Stud in Victoria where he has been very popular.

Fighting Sun has made an encouraging start to his stud career and has four entries for the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and 17 for Inglis Premier next month.
