Fee Confirmed for Wootton Bassett

With his first Australian bred runners due to take flight here this season, Coolmore Australia have confirmed the fee for top class shuttler Wootton Bassett (GB) at $192,500 inc. GST.

Wootton Bassett has covered 490 mares in his first three seasons in Australia with his first yearlings selling exceptionally well earlier this year and joining the stables of our leading trainers.

At Magic Millions he had 32 yearlings average $465,625 and at Inglis Easter a further 22 were sold at an average $391,364.

While it’s all just beginning for him in Australia, it’s been full steam ahead in the Northern Hemisphere this year for Wootton Bassett, who has sired nine stakes-winners in 2024 headed by his Group I winner Al Riffa, who heads next to the Group I Arc de Triomphe in France.

Among his 2024 stakes-winners are four new juvenile stakes -winners – Henri Matisse, Ides of March, Angeal and Apples and Bananas – with 21 two year-old winners in total so far this year.
