Geese That Lay Golden Eggs – What’s in the Future?

Tara Madgwick - Sunday January 18

The 2026 Magic Millions Yearling Sale was highlighted by 15 yearlings that sold for $1million or more which was two more than last year when just 13 hit the magic mark, but still considerably down on 2024 which saw 23 millionaires sold following on from 20 in 2023.

Below we’ve tabled all the million dollar yearlings with the foal produced last year by their dam and subsequent covering.

The dam of the $2million Frankel colt, Antibes was covered by Harry Angel ((IRE).

It was mostly the usual suspects that covered these elite producers although first season sires Switzerland and City of Troy (USA) got in on the act covering one mare each.

The Autumn Sun has been given a golden opportunity at Arrowfield Stud covering his biggest ever book of 178 mares last year and with two superstars running for him this season in Autumn Glow and Autumn Boy, he is a stallion that may have more to offer.

His yearlings at this sale sold for up to $650,000 with 12 selling at an average $292,500.
