Magic Millions Personal Best List

Ask any sportsman and it’s all about the personal best and for the following list of stallions, they all achieved their best ever yearling sale result at the super strong Magic Millions Yearling Sale last week.

With a clearance rate of 87%, vendors were meeting the market and while this was a starting point for a long sale season to come, it set a very positive tone for the year ahead.

Extreme Choice - Newgate

Kingstar Farm team celebrate their $2million Extreme Choice colt from Hazlebrook.

$2million for the colt out of Hazlebrook, sold by Kingstar Farm to Yu Long Investments.

Previous high was $1.7m for a colt out of Shadow at 2025 Inglis Easter. Bought by Chris Waller Racing / Mulcaster Bloodstock / B2B Thoroughbreds off Coolmore Stud, the full brother to G1 winner Apocalyptic has been named Hidrix and has trialled twice.

Tagaloa – Yulong

She's the first foal from champion mare More Joyous bred by Yulong, who bought her from the Strawberry Hill Dispersal in 2023 for $450,000.

$625,000 for a filly out of More Joyous. Sold by Yulong to Dalziel Bloodstock/Moody Racing.

Second highest was also at this year’s Magic Millions -  $400,000 for a filly out of Wandabaa. Sold by Yulong  to Spicer Thoroughbreds..

Previous high had been $270,000 for a filly out of Talented at 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast.

Alabama Express - Yulong

Best of Yulong bloodlines here as this colt is from a sister to Pierata.

$625,000 for a colt out of Navarro. Sold by Yulong to Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott/Kestrel Thoroughbreds/Darby Racing.

His previous high of $400,000 for a colt out of Devine Lass at the 2024 Magic Millions was bettered by four of his yearlings at this year’s sale:

A filly out of Reelem In Ruby making $420,000, a filly out of Spirituality making $440,000 and a colt out of Inspirational Girl making $490,000.

Brave Smash (Jpn) – Yarraman Park

Best of Yarraman bloodlines being from G2 placed daughter of I Am Invincible.

$380,000 for a colt out of Tetsuko sold by Yarraman Park to George Moore Bloodstock.

Previous high was $260,000 for a colt out of Bellevue Girl at 2022 Magic Millions which raced as Hachiman.

These are the first yearlings conceived at Yarraman Park after Brave Smash started his career with Aquis.

Hellbent – Yarraman Park

Hellbent enjoying a surge on the racetrack reflected in the sale ring and in particular with this filly.

$600,000 for a filly out of La Tigeresa, sold by Widden Stud to Michael Freedman Racing/Andrew Williams Bloodstock (FBAA).

Previous high was $500,000 for a filly out Jalan Jalan at 2021 Magic Millions, still racing as Dirty Dancing.

This crop of yearlings conceived when his fee rose from $22,000 to $38,500.

Nicconi – Widden Victoria

This filly also the highest priced yearling ever sold by Lyndhurst Stud Farm.

$500,000 for a filly out of Scorched, sold by Lyndhurst Stud to Scott Waters/Jay McPhee/Clarke Bloodstock (FBAA). This filly a full sister to brilliant SW Scorched Earth whose first foal (F I Am Invincible) sold for $850,000.

Previous high was $425,000 for a filly out of No Crying at last year’s Magic Millions, now named Spilt Milk, yet to trial.

Extreme Warrior – Rosemont Stud

From second crop of Extreme Warrior, fertility challenged like his sire Extreme Choice, but has hit the ground running.

$220,000 for a colt out of Last Jedi. Sold by Rosemont Stud to Archibald Racing Pty Ltd/Stallion Match/Mitchell Bloodstock (FBAA)

Previous high was $160,000 for a colt out of Red Sista at last year’s Magic Millions.

Cool Aza Beel – Newhaven Park

Third crop of Cool Aza Beel, who got a superstar Cool Archie in his first and had two runners in the MM 2YO Classic last week from his second.

$320,000 for a colt out of Mietta. Sold by Newhaven Park to Hancock Quality Bloodstock (FBAA).

Previous high was $280,000 for a filly out of Ends In Tears at the 2024 Magic Millions.

Also with their best result for a yearling sold in Australia were Northern Hemisphere based champion sires Frankel and Night of Thunder.

The former stands at Juddmonte with an advertised fee in 2026 of £350,000 ($A700,000), while the latter stands at Darley with his fee this year set at €200,000 ($A400,000).

Equal sale-topper this year and bred by Fairway Thoroughbreds, who gave us Winx!

$2million for a colt out of Antibes. Sold by Segenhoe Stud to Tom Magnier.

Previous high was $1.6m for a colt out of More Strawberries at Inglis Easter in 2016.

Night of Thunder

Night of Thunder shuttled to Darley Australia first season back in 2016 at a fee of $16,500... he's done more than alright!

$700,000 for a filly out of Mist Moment. Sold by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds to McEvoy Mitchell Racing/Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA)

Previous high was $350,000 for a colt out of Trapani at Magic Millions 2023
