Tara Madgwick - Monday July 15

The Hong Kong racing season has come to an end and stallions that are standing or stood in Australia have a strong presence in their leading sire list for 2023/2024.

Now retired Newgate Farm based Deep Field is the champion sire by earnings and winners for the third year in a row and has broken all records this year with his 26 winners double that of his nearest rivals and his total earnings topping HK$93million also a record.

His Irish bred son California Spangle (IRE) was crowned Champion Sprinter and his Australian bred son Beauty Eternal won the Group I Champions Mile.

Larneuk Stud’s Wandjina is well placed on the list for a bargain priced sire with five winners from six runners and they include Galaxy Patch, who won multiple Group races and was second in the Hong Kong Derby to be honoured as Champion Four Year Old.
