Familiar Pedigree Makes Early Running at JRHA Select Sale

Mark Smith - Monday July 8

A colt from the family of Saturday’s Listed Belmont Oaks heroine Petrouchka made the early running as the yearling session of the JRHA Select Sale got underway at Northern Horse Park, Hokkaido on Monday.

Consigned by Northern Farm, the son of Epiphaneia from the Group 1 Irish Oaks heroine Even So, was a ?340million (A$3.1m) purchase for Fujita Susumu (lot 24).

The price was battered 24 lots later when Masahiro Noda's Danox Co.Ltd purchased another son of Epiphaneia for ?390,000,000 (A$3.6m. (lot 51).
